Welcome to Rx and The City!

Throughout my time in medical school, I have been grateful for the wisdom of so many med school bloggers and Reedit-ors. This blog hopes to be a place to share an unfiltered look at med-school life: what it’s really like from pre-clerkship through rotations, study hacks, hidden curriculum, living in your 20s while also sacrificing them for your career, and reflections on what it all may mean.
Medical school is a fever dream that less than one percent of the world will understand let alone experience. There is an inherent privilege that we gain the moment we put on the white coat but also a burden of burnout that most will spend the rest of their careers running away from. I hope to talk about all that I have learned, mistakes I have made, and opportunities I missed in the hopes that you, whoever you are, can gain a new point of view.

About me
Nicole is a medical student in NYC navigating the chaos of lectures, white-coats, subway commutes, relationships, and being in her 20s in the greatest city in the world!
When she’s not buried in Anki or running between shifts, she loves exploring the city’s hidden corners, meeting new friends, grabbing cheeky weeknight martinis, and reflecting on what it means to care for others while still learning to care for yourself.
